Welcome to Corsham Counselling and well done for taking the first step.
You have recognised that your life or way of being isn’t quite what you want, but maybe you can’t put your finger on why that is or what is stopping you reaching a more comfortable and satisfying place.
Perhaps you and others see you as having everything that constitutes a happy life, but you still feel worried, anxious or sad.
Maybe you have experienced a recent bereavement or relationship breakdown that you can’t seem to see beyond. Maybe past trauma is inhibiting your ability to enjoy life now.
At Corsham Counselling, I can support you to better manage what life brings and enhance your mental and emotional wellbeing.
My private counselling sessions are a safe space offering you the time and freedom to explore any issues you are finding challenging, including stress, anxiety, depression and addiction.
My accredited 8-week mindfulness courses are designed to help you cultivate a sense of peace and presence in your daily life, providing you with practical tools to manage stress, anxiety, and connect more deeply with yourself.
We’ll focus on how you want to be, not how you have become.
Private counselling
There are moments when we all feel sad, low, anxious or stressed. Events can trigger these feelings, but sometimes it’s hard to really put your finger on why you feel the way you do.
Perhaps you find it hard to show sadness and feel it’s better just to put on a happy face in the hope that you will then feel happy on the inside? Perhaps when you do allow yourself to feel sad, it pours out in floods or takes you to a dark and lonely place where it’s difficult to leave.
Whatever you’re feeling and however you choose to describe it – anxiety, stress, or depression – having the opportunity to talk to someone, without judgement or the desire to rescue you, can be transformational.
We will talk through what is causing you the most distress and look at those patterns of behaving that you find unhelpful. Together, we will explore what motivates you to behave as you do and explore ways of adapting that behaviour to regain control over your life and your time.
A strong therapeutic relationship characterised by honesty, acceptance, and empowerment will provide the perfect conditions for change to be realised.
As your counsellor, I will be there for you, and we will work together to find the best way forward for you.
Mindfulness courses
If you'd like to develop mindfulness skills to manage stress and anxiety, or other challenges, I provide flexible training options. You can join an 8-week group course or work with me individually, either in Corsham or via online sessions.
Addiction counselling
At Corsham Counselling we would encourage you to get treatment for the physical addiction and we are able to recommend agencies who can help with this. Alongside other professionals we will support you to achieve the target set by you, whether that be reduction or sustaining abstinence.
Anxiety counselling
At Corsham Counselling we will explore what may be causing your anxiety and help with coping techniques. We will also look at different tools that will enable you to reduce your anxiety from breathing techniques to mindfulness.
Depression counselling
I can help by offering a relationship free of judgement and support you to acknowledge your feelings. I will help you to navigate what is challenging you, exploring different strategies for coping with depression and ways of relating to others and events.
Stress counselling
At Corsham Counselling, I will provide a safe, supportive environment where you can explore the possible causes of your stress. I will support you in identifying strategies to help you manage and reduce it, promoting overall well-being and resilience.
